Making space in ‘Gaol’!

Project: To evaluate the existing entrance area and inform client of ways to improve the property.

Features & Thinking: The existing old Gaol had been altered in the past and the existing entrance to the property was uninviting and lead directly into the family kitchen relaxing zone.  Different concepts were produced showing a number of different possibilities and through client consultations the final design was detailed.  The new entrance provides a more focused arrival point and flow through the house.  The design also enlarges the kitchen, provides a utility and an enlarged office, together with more direct access to the rear garden.  All this was achieved without extending the property.
