Project: To enlarge the family home to provide additional ground floor living space and improved facilities to a timber framed property
Features & Thinking: Main features of the property are the extended kitchen area and garden room with plentiful glazing to reduce visual mass. The stepped ridge heights are visually broken by using a full height glazed link and roof. This visually separates the extension from the existing property creating inner light and movement. The flow of the property has also been greatly improved by removing the existing staircase and repositioning a new central staircase. Altering room usage also improves the home and minimises wasted space.
